For high-voltage DC transmission systems, we offer special HVDC bushings that enable connection to HVDC transformers, reactors, or air-insulated system components. They are calculated and designed according to individual requirements. The bushings are offered dry-insulated (GSETFt) or gas-insulated (GSETF).
For routine testing of the HVDC bushing, the customer must provide a corresponding test barrier vessel. This has a similar design to the transformer in which the bushing will later be placed. This ensures that the bushing and transformer will work together optimally.
Up to approx. 550 kV, this design can be manufactured with dry filling. Look for the small “t” in the designation. Above this voltage value, the secondary insulation is currently still manufactured with SF6 filling.
Usually, the single-phase transformers are located in front of the valve hall so that the transformer domes with the two HVDC bushings protrude into the valve hall. Suitable wall shields can also be supplied for the bushing. These shields are mounted on the bushing flange to shield the bushing flange / transformer dome.
In many cases, the HVDC bushings have a plug contact pin with multi-contact blades on the transformer side. The blades automatically establish contact when inserted into the transformer.
When installing the HVDC bushing outdoors, the insulators are selected according to the respective environmental conditions.
All bushings are designed to the IEC/IEEE standard 65700-19-03 and are tested accordingly.
